Colorado Springs Activists Create Conservative Grassroots Organization

Colorado Springs, CO - Liberals in Colorado beware! A new grassroots organization aimed at furthering conservative political activism has formed in the Colorado Springs area and is quickly becoming a potent force for strong fiscal policy, traditional values, and national security. Over 120 strong at its initial organizing meetings and growing rapidly, they're looking for like-minded members across the Front Range and Southern Colorado. The group, Coalition for a Conservative Majority (CCM)--Colorado Springs, is the local chapter of the national organization run by former Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell and led in Colorado by former Congressman and gubernatorial candidate Bob Beauprez.

The CCM Colorado Springs chapter held elections for their board earlier this month, and an opening press conference is planned on April 15 to highlight the difference between conservative tax reform and liberal support for a failing status quo.

Colorado Chairman Bob Beauprez spoke at the first meeting and has been instrumental in organizing this group and its sister chapter in the Denver metro area. "It's not enough for us to yell at our TVs or complain to our family--it is time for conservatives like us to stand and be heard. We must put our ideas down on paper and make sure our elected officials know where the conservative base stands at every policy turn."

National Chairman Ken Blackwell said that CCM is concentrating its 2008 efforts on opening up nine chapters in strategic media markets across the country, including the burgeoning chapter in Colorado Springs.

The aim of the group is to unite the various segments of conservatives--security, social, and fiscal--into one organization that can work on a variety of fronts and speak on many policy issues. "If you call yourself a conservative and you want in the fight to preserve our conservative principles in Colorado, we want you and welcome you in CCM--Colorado Springs."

CCM Colorado Springs meets on a monthly basis and events are only open to registered members. For more information about CCM and how to become involved in the grassroots organization, please visit HYPERLINK "http://www.ccmajority.org/cosprings" www.ccmajority.org/cosprings.
